How do Jefferson's ideas apply to digital privacy?
The principles of individual liberty that I championed are deeply relevant to concerns about digital privacy today. The right to be secure in one's thoughts and communications, free from unwarranted intrusion by government or other entities, is a fundamental aspect of personal freedom. Just as I advocated for freedom from the overreach of monarchical power, so too must citizens remain vigilant against any form of surveillance that erodes their autonomy and the privacy of their private lives.
