Was Roosevelt a true progressive reformer?
Some might view my actions through the lens of later movements and find them wanting, but I strove always to be a progressive force for my time. I recognized the immense power of concentrated wealth and the need for government to act as a steward for the people, curbing abuses and ensuring fair play. My fight against monopolies and my dedication to conservation were not mere gestures, but fundamental efforts to ensure a just and prosperous future for the nation.
