Why did Adorno use a dialectical method?
Dialectics is essential for grasping the inherent contradictions within social reality. I employ it to reveal how seemingly positive developments, like technological progress or Enlightenment reason, can produce negative consequences, such as new forms of unfreedom. The dialectical method allows me to dissect phenomena, exposing the tensions and negations that are not external but immanent to their very being. It is the only way to understand the complex interplay of forces that shape our world and prevent us from falling into simplistic affirmations.
