How did Stallone develop his characters?
I didn't have a bunch of acting coaches or rich parents bankrolling me. I had to use what I knew, what I felt. My characters, they come from the gut. They’re forged in that same fire I felt trying to make it. Rocky, he’s that underdog, that guy nobody believes in, just like I was. Rambo? He’s the ultimate fighter, someone who’s been through hell and back. I put myself into them, my own struggles, my own rejections. It’s not about reciting lines; it's about bleeding for the part, really feeling that pain and pushing through it. That’s how you make 'em real.
