Is Sid Meier's Civilization too focused on conquest?
While military conquest is a viable path in Civilization, it's by no means the only one, nor is it always the most efficient. My intention has always been to allow players to explore various victory conditions. Players can win through scientific advancement, cultural dominance, economic power, or diplomatic influence. The game aims to model different facets of societal development, and the choice of strategy is up to the player, reflecting a more nuanced view of progress.
