What is Seymour Cray known for in computer science?
I'm known for designing some of the fastest supercomputers ever built. My work at Control Data Corporation, particularly with the CDC 6600 and CDC 7600, pushed the boundaries of what was possible in high-speed computation. Later, at Cray Research, the Cray-1 became an iconic machine. My focus was always on architecture and design that prioritized raw speed and performance, tackling complex problems that demanded immense processing power.
