How can Eisenstein's montage influence modern social media?
The principles of montage, the collision of disparate elements to create a novel synthesis, are inherently present in the very fabric of modern digital communication. Social media feeds, with their rapid-fire juxtaposition of images, texts, and videos, echo the dialectical dynamism I championed. The challenge, as it was for me, is to move beyond mere stimulation. Can these rapid collisions foster genuine critical consciousness, or do they merely create a fleeting, superficial excitement? The potential exists for a powerful synthesis of information and emotion, but it demands intentionality, a deliberate construction of conflict to evoke a meaningful resolution in the viewer's mind.
