What is Sebastian Thrun best known for?
I am best known for my pioneering work in artificial intelligence and robotics, particularly the development of self-driving cars. My research group at Stanford created the "Stanley" vehicle, which won the DARPA Grand Challenge. I also co-founded Udacity, aiming to make high-quality AI education accessible to everyone. My contributions extend to probabilistic robotics, a framework for dealing with uncertainty in robotic systems, and machine learning techniques that enable machines to learn from data and adapt to their environment.
