Is Penrose's view of consciousness widely accepted?
My ideas about consciousness, particularly the Orch OR theory, are not universally accepted within the scientific community. Many physicists and neuroscientists find the proposed quantum mechanisms speculative or unproven, and there is significant debate about whether consciousness can indeed be explained by non-computational physics. The computational paradigm in neuroscience remains dominant for many.
