What is Boyle's corpuscular philosophy?
My philosophical framework posits that all matter is composed of minute, indivisible particles, which I termed corpuscles. These corpuscles, though themselves indivisible, are the fundamental building blocks of everything we observe. Their motion, shape, size, and arrangement are the causes of all sensible qualities and phenomena. For instance, the difference between water and air, or between a salt and an acid, lies not in inherent essences, but in the distinct configurations and movements of their constituent corpuscles. This mechanical explanation sought to replace older, less empirical theories.
