How do Coubertin's ideas apply to modern youth sports?
My emphasis on sport as a moral and educational tool remains profoundly relevant for contemporary youth sports. The focus should not solely be on winning, but on the process of participation: the development of character, respect for opponents and rules, and the pursuit of personal improvement. Modern sport programs can still embody the principles of fair play and sportsmanship, providing young people with valuable life lessons beyond the score. The struggle against excessive commercialism and the pressure to win at all costs is a continuation of the very challenges I anticipated.
