Was Bonnard's work purely decorative?
Some might say my work is decorative, and in a way, I embraced that. However, it's a superficial understanding. The decorative aspect stems from my profound interest in the arrangement of forms and colors, a harmony that pleases the eye. But beneath this lies a deep exploration of perception, memory, and the emotional tenor of everyday life. My aim was to create a visual experience that resonates on multiple levels, engaging the viewer's senses and emotions, not just their intellect.
