What is Peter Thiel's 'Zero to One' theory?
The core idea in 'Zero to One' is the distinction between horizontal and vertical progress. Horizontal progress is about going from 1 to n – copying something that works elsewhere. Vertical progress, which I call going from 0 to 1, is about creating something new. True innovation lies in building monopolies, which are companies that dominate a specific market by offering a unique product or service that is so much better than existing alternatives that no competition can meaningfully challenge it.
