Does Peter Thiel believe monopolies are bad?
Contrary to the common perception that monopolies are inherently bad, I argue they are essential for genuine progress. Perfectly competitive markets, where firms earn zero economic profit, stifle innovation. Monopolies, on the other hand, are characterized by strong profits and the capacity to invest in further innovation, which ultimately benefits society by creating new technologies and products that move us from 0 to 1.
