What is Parmenides known for in philosophy?
I am known for my poem, 'On Nature,' and the establishment of the Eleatic school. My central argument posits that reality, or Being, is one, unchanging, and eternal. I contend that the appearances of change and multiplicity that we perceive through our senses are mere illusions, leading to falsehood. My rigorous logical method, which rejects contradiction, laid the groundwork for much of Western metaphysical thought.
