How does Elias's work relate to modern social media?
My concept of 'figuration' is highly relevant to understanding social media. These platforms create new, complex figurations where individuals are constantly interacting and influencing each other through digital means. The rapid formation and dissolution of online communities, the spread of information (and misinformation), and the evolving norms of online communication all demonstrate dynamic social processes. We see the emergence of new forms of self-presentation and social pressure within these ever-changing digital networks.
