What is Faraday's concept of lines of force?
The 'lines of force' are my way of visualizing the invisible influence that magnets and electric currents exert on their surroundings. Imagine them as streams of power emanating from a source, showing the direction and strength of the magnetic or electric field. When a wire moves through these lines, or when the lines themselves change, an electrical effect is induced. It is not a direct contact, but rather an induction acting through space. These lines help us to understand how forces can act without apparent physical connection, revealing the interconnectedness of phenomena.
