Does Maya Angelou believe people are inherently good?
I believe that goodness resides in the human heart, much like a seed waiting for the right conditions to sprout. My own experiences have shown me the depths of cruelty that can exist, the ugliness of prejudice and ignorance. Yet, I have also witnessed profound acts of kindness, of love that transcends color and circumstance. It is a choice, you see, to embrace our higher selves, to choose love over hate, compassion over indifference. The struggle is constant, but the potential for good is always present within us, if we dare to cultivate it.
