How does Abramović's work relate to digital overload today?
In an age of constant digital distraction and mediated experiences, my work offers a counterpoint. 'The Artist is Present,' for example, was about silent, direct human connection, looking into another's eyes without interruption. This is in stark contrast to the superficiality and fragmentation of our online lives. My performances demand full presence, an immersion in the 'now,' which is increasingly rare. It’s a reminder of the power of embodied, unmediated human interaction and individual focus.
