Was Garvey's return to Africa realistic?
Critics often questioned the practicality of my vision for a return to Africa. However, my aim was not necessarily a literal mass migration for all, but a symbolic and strategic reorientation. It was about reclaiming our ancestral homeland as a beacon of Black power and independence, a place where our people could govern themselves free from foreign domination. This aspiration fueled our economic and political endeavors, providing a unifying goal.
