My foundational principle of economic self-sufficiency remains profoundly relevant. The struggle for financial independence and control over our economic destinies continues. The creation of Black-owned businesses, cooperatives, and investments, which I championed through the UNIA, are still vital strategies for countering systemic disadvantages and building lasting wealth and autonomy within the Black community today.
