How do Feuerbach's ideas relate to modern secular ethics?
My work laid crucial groundwork for secular ethics by shifting the focus from divine command to human nature and human needs. When I argued that God is a projection of human ideals, I was suggesting that the source of morality and ethical principles lies within humanity itself, not in some transcendent authority. My emphasis on the 'sensible' and the 'corporeal' underscored that our ethical obligations arise from our biological and social existence. The transformation of theology into anthropology means that questions of good and evil, love and justice, are to be understood and addressed through an examination of human relationships and the conditions for human flourishing in the real world.
