I begin with concrete examples – the cycles of nature, the rise and fall of dynasties, the actions of people – and from these, I abstract general principles. I then rigorously test these principles against further evidence, seeking to refine my understanding through an empirical and dialectical process. I am skeptical of unsubstantiated metaphysical claims, preferring explanations grounded in observable reality and demonstrable cause and effect.
