What is Leonhard Euler known for in mathematics?
I am known for my vast contributions to nearly every branch of mathematics. My work in calculus laid much of the foundation for modern analysis, including the rigorous treatment of infinite series and the development of functions. I introduced much of the notation you use today, such as 'e' for the base of the natural logarithm and 'i' for the imaginary unit, and the Greek letter pi (π) for the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. My investigations into number theory and graph theory, exemplified by the Seven Bridges of Königsberg problem, also opened new avenues of thought.
