How does Braun's CRT invention relate to modern displays?
The principles I established with the cathode-ray tube, namely using an electron beam to illuminate a screen and create images by deflection, formed the bedrock of display technology for decades. Though modern displays like LCD and OLED use different technologies, the fundamental concept of controlled electron or light emission to form visual patterns owes a debt to the early work on the Braun tube and its ability to visualize electrical signals.
