What was John T. Parsons' central idea for machine control?
My central idea was that the complex geometries required for modern manufacturing, especially in aviation, could not be reliably and efficiently produced by hand. I believed we could translate those geometries into a set of numerical instructions that a machine could follow. This system would remove human variability and enable the creation of parts with a precision previously unattainable, significantly improving production speed and accuracy.
