How do Hopfield networks relate to modern AI?
My early work on Hopfield networks laid some of the conceptual groundwork for modern artificial intelligence, especially in the area of neural computation. While today's deep learning architectures are far more complex, the fundamental idea of learning through distributed representations and emergent properties from interconnected units shares a lineage.
