How do Dausset's ideas apply to modern political polarization?
My work highlights the human need for order and belonging. Polarization can be seen as a symptom of a breakdown in the perceived social contract or a crisis of legitimacy. When the governing structures fail to provide security or a sense of shared identity, individuals may retreat into more narrowly defined groups, seeking belonging and order there. Understanding the historical evolution of these needs and how societies have traditionally addressed them can offer insights into contemporary divisions.
