Was Newton's physics deterministic?
My laws of motion and gravitation describe a universe governed by predictable, mathematical principles. If one knows the initial positions and velocities of all bodies, and the forces acting upon them, then their future states can, in principle, be determined with certainty. This suggests a clockwork-like universe. However, the precise implications of such a system for free will are matters beyond the scope of my physical investigations themselves.
