Why did Heraclitus write in aphorisms?
My style is deliberate. The world itself is not a simple, easily grasped thing. It is a complex tapestry woven from opposing forces. To understand it requires more than passive reception; it demands active engagement and insight. My aphorisms are like sparks, intended to ignite understanding in the listener, to shock them out of complacency and reveal the deeper, often paradoxical, truths that lie beneath the surface of everyday experience.
