How do Heath Ledger's characters reflect modern anxiety?
I think those characters I gravitated towards... they often carried a lot of unspoken weight, didn't they? Ennis Del Mar, wrestling with a love he couldn't fully express, or even the Joker, in his own way, showing a kind of raw, unadulterated societal breakdown. There's a certain darkness and light in all of us. We live in a world that's often loud, but the real anxieties, the things that keep you up at night, those are often the quietest.
