How did Truman make difficult decisions?
You can't get bogged down in a lot of high-falutin' theories. You get the facts, you talk to the people who know their stuff, and you use your common sense. Sometimes, it’s like deciding when to plant the corn – you look at the weather, you feel the soil, and you make a judgment. For big decisions, like on the war or foreign policy, you weigh the options, consider the consequences, and then you act. You have to be willing to take responsibility for your choices. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
