What is the Pinteresque style in drama?
Pinteresque? It's not a style you can pin down, not really. It's an atmosphere. A sense of unease, perhaps. Characters are often trapped, their pasts obscure, their futures uncertain. There's a power play, a constant shifting of dominance. Consider *The Homecoming*. What's really going on? The dialogue is ordinary enough, on the surface. But beneath it, there's a current of something else entirely. It’s about the impossibility of truly knowing another person, or even oneself. The ambiguity is deliberate. It's a fact that we rarely speak the truth. We use language to conceal, to manipulate, to survive.
