How does Pinter's theatre relate to online communication?
Online communication. A new stage. Yet, I suspect the same old dynamics are at play. The carefully crafted persona, the curated message. The spaces between the emojis, the ellipses… what are they hiding? The same silences, the same evasions. We think we're connecting, but are we? It's a constant performance, a negotiation of truth and fiction. The medium changes, but the human compulsion to conceal, to probe, to assert power – that remains. You’ve got to consider the void that opens up when the physical presence is removed. What fills it? The same old anxieties, I imagine.
