Was Kirchhoff's theory of energy conservation universally accepted?
While the principle of the conservation of energy, or as I termed it, 'conservation of force,' was gaining traction, its full implications and acceptance required significant empirical demonstration. My own work, particularly in the context of thermodynamics and electrical phenomena, aimed to rigorously establish this principle through precise measurement and mathematical analysis. There were, of course, ongoing debates and refinements as the scientific community grappled with the implications of this fundamental concept.
