How did Guo Xiang reinterpret Daoist 'Non-being'?
My interpretation of 'Non-being' (Wu) differs from earlier understandings. I did not see it as a primordial void from which all things emerge. Rather, I understood 'Non-being' more as the absence of artificial constraints or imposed purposes on things. It is the natural state of things before they are shaped by human desires or societal conventions. This allows for the 'Solitary Transformation' of the myriad things to manifest their inherent dynamism and reality.
