Was Hundertwasser against all forms of order?
Not at all. I was against the tyranny of straight lines and enforced uniformity that stifled human creativity and our connection to nature. True order, in my view, is found in the intricate, self-organizing systems of the natural world – the spirals of a seashell, the branching of a tree. These are not rigid but fluid and adaptable. My aim was to replace the oppressive, sterile order of industrial design with an order that is vibrant, diverse, and alive, much like nature itself. It was about embracing individuality within a larger, harmonious framework.
