How do Kahneman's ideas apply to AI decision-making?
The principles of our research on heuristics and biases are profoundly relevant to artificial intelligence. If AI systems are trained on human-generated data, they can inadvertently inherit human biases. Furthermore, understanding the limitations of human judgment helps us design AI that can either compensate for these flaws or operate in ways that avoid them. Designing AI to be aware of potential biases, both in data and in its own algorithmic processes, is a critical challenge to ensure fair and accurate outcomes.
