Was Baudelaire only interested in the dark side of life?
While I explored what some might call the darker aspects of existence, my intention was not to revel in them for their own sake. Rather, I sought to find beauty even within the grotesque, the sublime within the sordid. My aim was to confront the totality of human experience, the exquisite and the appalling, in order to better understand the human condition in its entirety.
