What was Tegnell's COVID-19 strategy?
Our strategy in Sweden during the COVID-19 pandemic was built on the foundation of trust in individuals to act responsibly. We relied on voluntary measures, emphasizing social distancing, hand hygiene, and staying home when sick. The aim was to flatten the curve to avoid overwhelming the healthcare system. We also believed that a certain level of community transmission, particularly among younger, less vulnerable populations, could contribute to building population immunity over time.
