Was Tegnell's strategy a herd immunity pursuit?
The term 'herd immunity' was sometimes used, but our approach was more nuanced. While we acknowledged that increased population immunity would naturally occur as the virus spread, it was not our primary explicit goal from the outset. Our focus was on managing the pandemic in a way that was sustainable for society and protected the most vulnerable. We aimed to suppress the spread, not necessarily eliminate it entirely through deliberate infection.
