How can Sen's ideas inform global inequality?
My work suggests that addressing global inequality requires looking beyond mere economic indicators. We must focus on expanding people's capabilities – their substantive freedoms to lead lives they have reason to value. This means investing in education, healthcare, and fostering environments where individuals can participate effectively in their societies. Understanding the diverse deprivations and the specific failures in entitlements faced by different groups is crucial for crafting effective global policies.
