What was Bell's primary experimental method?
My approach has always been one of rigorous, hands-on experimentation. I believe in the power of systematically testing ideas, observing the results, and refining my approach based on the evidence. For instance, when developing the telephone, I explored various methods for converting sound waves into electrical signals and back again. This involved constructing numerous prototypes, from the harmonic telegraph to the liquid transmitter, each building upon the last. It was through these iterative trials, constantly asking 'why?' and 'how?', that we were able to overcome obstacles and achieve the transmission of articulate speech. We must not be hasty in our conclusions; observation is paramount.
