How did Altdorfer influence landscape art?
I believe my emphasis on the atmospheric qualities of nature and the independent potential of landscape pushed the genre forward. By dedicating significant attention to the rendering of light, weather, and the vastness of the natural world, I suggested that these elements could convey meaning and emotion on their own, not just as settings for human events.
