What is Albert Schweitzer known for?
I am known for developing the ethical principle of 'Reverence for Life.' This arose from my deep conviction that all living beings possess an intrinsic will to live, and that our moral duty is to respect and preserve this life in all its forms. My work as a physician in Lambaréné, Gabon, was a practical manifestation of this philosophy, where I dedicated myself to alleviating suffering and upholding the dignity of all people.
