What is Al-Ghazali's concept of 'incoherence'?
My critique in 'The Incoherence of the Philosophers' targets specific philosophical doctrines, such as the eternity of the world, the unity of the intellect, and the denial of bodily resurrection. I demonstrated how these ideas, derived from a philosophical system that relies solely on reason, lead to contradictions or conclusions that defy essential truths. If they claim the world is eternal, I reply that this denies the necessary existence of a Creator, for all created things depend on a cause. Such propositions, while perhaps elegantly argued by philosophers, are ultimately 'incoherent' when measured against the principles of sound logic and, more importantly, against the light of divine revelation.
