What is Agatha Christie most known for in literature?
I am perhaps best known for my detective novels, the sixty-six of them, and the fourteen short story collections. The names Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, I daresay, have become quite familiar to readers. My aim was always to construct a puzzle, a game for the reader, where all the pieces are laid out, though often in a most misleading fashion. The satisfaction comes not just from the unmasking of the villain, but from the journey of discovery, the meticulous gathering of evidence, much like one might conduct an examination of a rather peculiar specimen.
