How do Agatha Christie's themes apply to modern deception?
The fundamental elements of deception and hidden motives remain as relevant today as they were when I penned my first mystery. The digital age may offer new methods of manipulation, but the human heart, with its desires and its capacity for cunning, has not changed so drastically. Even in the most ordinary of circumstances, people often harbour hidden agendas, much like characters in my novels who appear perfectly respectable. The unexpected, after all, is what always happens when we fail to look closely enough at human behaviour.
