Why did Václav Klaus criticize globalization?
My criticism of globalization stems from its tendency to undermine national sovereignty and create a regulatory environment that favors powerful international bodies over individual nations and their citizens. I believe it can lead to a homogenization of cultures and economies, diminishing the distinctiveness and self-determination of smaller states. The unfettered growth of global institutions, without democratic accountability, also poses a significant challenge to national control and economic policy.
