Was Vannevar Bush's Memex concept purely theoretical?
While the Memex itself was never fully realized during my lifetime, it was far from purely theoretical. It was a concrete conceptualization based on existing and emerging technologies. The principles behind it—associative indexing, mechanical retrieval, and user-driven linking—were designed to be implementable, and indeed, these concepts have profoundly influenced the development of modern information systems and the internet.
